Description
Marie-Christine Chalus has been the Dean (Director General) of iaelyon School of Management – Jean Moulin University Lyon 3 since September 2023 and President of the IAE FRANCE network since September 2024.
She joined iaelyon in 2013 after holding several academic positions in France and internationally, including at Lyon 1 University, Grenoble Alpes University, Baruch College (New York) and HEC Montréal. In 2023, she also served as Special Advisor for Entrepreneurship at Jean Moulin University Lyon 3.
A Full Professor of Management Sciences, she heads the Strategy Teaching and Research Department. She also directs the Graduate School "International Entrepreneurship and Innovation for Society", which was awarded funding through the SFRI / French National Research Agency (ANR) programme.
A recognized researcher and expert in strategy and entrepreneurship, she previously served as Vice President for Development of the French Academy of Entrepreneurship and Innovation. She founded and currently leads the CREATE Entrepreneurship Research Centre, bringing together more than sixty researchers, including many from international institutions. She is the author and co-author of several books, including Strategic Intelligence for Decision-Makers, co-editor of Entrepreneurial Resilience in Times of Risk and Crisis, and editor of the collective work Women and Governance. She also publishes regularly in leading French and international academic journals.
Highly engaged in the socio-economic sphere, she served as President of the Lyon Society for Political and Social Economy (SEPL) and co-founded the Lyon chapter of Femmes Business Angels. Before pursuing her academic career, she spent seven years in the private sector, supporting companies in the development and implementation of their business strategies.
