Co-ordinates the implementation of SAMIRA – the European Commission’s Strategic Agenda for Medical Ionising Radiation Applications. Joined the European Commission in 2008, initially taking up responsibility for the revision of the Euratom Basic Safety Standards Directive with respect to medical uses of radiation. MSc in nuclear physics with more than 25 years of experience in environmental monitoring, management of radioactive waste, decommissioning of nuclear facilities, etc.
