Description
InSimo has been developing medical simulation software for surgical training and medical procedures since 2013 in Strasbourg.
“Never the first time on a patient.” This is the goal of educational healthcare simulation: to offer medical students training methods that allow them to practice through experience without risk to the patient.
As a spin-off from Inria (French government academic research in computer sciences) and integrated into the heart of the Strasbourg University Hospital, InSimo's expertise in interactive biomechanical simulation is complemented by multiple collaborations with the medical world.
Our ambition is to support the democratization of high-fidelity medical simulation to make healthcare safer and more accessible!
Our offering currently covers several medical specialties:
👁️Cataract surgery: we are developing a unique ultra-high-fidelity simulator for the training needs of an US non profit humanitarian organization (HelpMeSee) working in emerging countries.
💉Punctures and infiltrations with Sim&Care | Chest, Knee, Spine: a procedural training simulator that combines high-fidelity biomechanical simulation, force feedback and augmented reality for lumbar puncture, knee arthrocentesis and thoracentesis.
🩺Ultrasound diagnosis with diSplay U/S: an innovative simulator, 100% accessible online with no specific hardware, providing an high-fidelity real-time ultrasound simulation on more than 100 patient cases. 20 000 users have already joined the diSplay U/S community!
🤖Robotic surgery training with ROBOTiS: a high-fidelity, generic, and portable robotic surgery simulator with more than 40 exercises already available! ROBOTiS is probably providing the best virtual suture simulation ever developed on an interactive simulator. A cutting-edge feature that opens up a wide range of educational possibilities for one of the most delicate and complex surgical procedures to master.
