Biography
Thomas recently joined the AI Office of the European Commission in the Unit working on AI in life sciences and health as a Seconded National Expert. Prior to that, he worked for the Dutch Ministry of Health Welfare and Sport as a senior policy officer on the European Health Data Space. In that capacity he was involved in the formation of national positions and the political negotiations on the EHDS and consequently preparing the national implementation of the EHDS focusing on secondary use. With a background in international public administration, this brings together the legislative and practical policy perspectives at different levels of government. Previously, he has worked on the broader scala of EU data law and projects in the context of digital industries.
